Reports To: Service Manager
Job Summary: Motor City Auto Care is seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various vehicles, ensuring they are safe and reliable for our customers. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive systems and the ability to work efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose mechanical issues using computerized diagnostic equipment and visual inspection.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake services.
  • Repair or replace faulty parts and systems, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and provide the service manager with detailed reports on the vehicle's condition.
  • First, advise the service manager on the customer's concerns and any additional services that need to be performed as a priority. 
  • Advise the service manager on necessary repairs and maintenance procedures.
  • Stay updated on new automotive technologies and repair techniques.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
  • Follow all safety protocols and company policies.

Preferred Certifications and Specialties:

  • ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification.
  • Must maintain State Certifications. 
Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a mechanic or automotive technician.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with professionalism.
