Responsibilities
  • Receive repair orders from dispatchers and take to stall area
  • Perform routine maintenance/major repairs assigned with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership
  • Perform complete MPI and 27 point used care inspection
  • Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair as authorized
  • Communicate with Parts Department to obtain needed parts
  • Tag & save parts, turn in parts, if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer
  • Advise Service Advisor immediately if any additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed or if repairs cannot be complete within promised time
  • Document & quality check work performed
  • Road-test vehicles to ensure repair has addressed customer complaint
  • Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins
  • Ensure that work area and customers' vehicle are kept clean
  • Administer safety & housekeeping policies/procedures
  • Understand/follow federal/state/local regulation, governing service repair work
Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two-years of experience in an auto body repair facility, one-year of supervisory experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five-years automotive mechanical experience (preferred)
  • Must have diagnostic ability in chassis, drive & electrical
  • Must have own tools
  • Ability to read, analyze & interpret technical procedures
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence & procedure manuals
  • Ability to regularly lift/move up to 25 lbs
  • Basic mathematical skills & reasoning ability
  • Customer service, computer & organizational skills
  • Current, valid driver's license & satisfactory MVR
