Job description

Angel Auto is growing, and we’re looking for a skilled, reliable, and motivated Auto Mechanic / Shop Lead to join our team. If you take pride in quality work, enjoy solving problems, and want to be part of a shop that values integrity and customer trust, this is the place for you.

The applicant would oversee daily maintenance operations, supervise technicians to ensure high-quality, timely vehicle or equipment repairs. They diagnose complex mechanical issues, and mentor junior staff while upholding safety standards. This role requires advanced technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to perform both complex repairs and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Supervision: Directs, trains, and reviews the work of shop mechanics and technicians.
  • Diagnostic & Repair: Performs advanced diagnostics and repairs on engines, transmissions, electrical systems, hydraulics, and braking systems for light/heavy vehicles.
  • Shop Operations: Manages inventory, maintains tools, and schedules maintenance to ensure maximum equipment uptime.
  • Quality & Safety Control: Inspects completed work for compliance with safety standards, performs road tests, and ensures a clean, organized work environment.
  • Documentation: Maintains detailed records of repairs, time, and materials used.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience: Several years of experience as a mechanic, with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Technical Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of diesel/gasoline engines, hydraulic systems, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with staff, vendors, and clients.
  • Licensure: Valid driver’s license and relevant certifications (e.g., ASE certification).
  • Tools: Ability to use specialized diagnostic tools.

Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED is required, with trade school or college degree preferred. ASE Master Technician certification and inspection license is a must.
