Include people. Position Overview: This position performs skilled mechanical work in the maintenance and repair of City Vehicles and various associated equipment. This work is performed under the direction of the Fleet Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities: Repair, maintain, and troubleshoot various vehicles and heavy equipment (e.g., graders, loaders, plow trucks, recycling trucks). Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Repair diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, brakes, clutches, and related systems

Adjust and calibrate components such as brakes, engines, and hydraulic/electrical systems. Perform preventative maintenance (e.g., oil changes, tune-ups, filter replacements, inspections). Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records for all equipment

Maintain reliable attendance and availability for on-call emergency response. Qualifications: Education and Experience High School diploma or equivalent Knowledge in diesel engine repair, heavy equipment, auto repair, or welding Valid Wisconsin CDL is required with B, C, and D with air brake and tanker endorsements or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire Preferred Qualifications 1 to 3 years of vocational schooling in diesel engine repair, heavy equipment, auto repair, or welding ASE Certification Experience in welding (rod and wire feed), cutting torches, plasma cutters, braising, hydraulics and pneumatics, or a combination of schooling, training, and/or experience. Salary and Benefits: Typical Hours- Monday through Friday 8am-4pm with a paid lunch and the opportunity for overtime.

Guaranteed 40 hours per week. Pay Range: $30.59- $33.96 depending on experience. Salary range reflects base to midpoint of the pay scale

Offers above midpoint require Council approval. The City of Neenah offers a comprehensive benefits package, including: Competitive health and dental insurance programs with WRS contributions Current health insurance cost per month for employee only is $81.92 and cost for family is $327.73 Free access to Employee Health Clinic provided by ThedaCare at Work Paid holidays, sick leave, and vacation.
