Job Summary: The Auto Body Technician specializes in the exterior restoration of Master’s Transportation buses, vans, and any other customer vehicle requiring repair. The Auto Body Technician is responsible for repairing damaged vehicle bodies and parts in accordance with factory and dealer specifications. Hourly pay range includes Tech's from level I to III

Safety-Sensitive Position:

This role is considered safety-sensitive because the employee performs duties involving the maintenance, repair, inspection, and testing of vehicles and equipment that are critical to safe operation. Any impairment, inattention, or failure to exercise appropriate judgment in this position could pose a direct threat to the health or safety of the employee or others. Employees in this role may be subject to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with company policy and applicable law.

Essential Functions:

  • Examine vehicles, assess exterior damage, and generate repair estimates for customers
  • Order necessary parts and ensure repairs meet OEM specifications. Ensure parts and components are assembled per instructions for proper appearance and function.
  • Reshape panels with minor damage, complete additional repairs, and repaint repaired vehicles as needed.
  • Files, grinds, and sands repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools.
  • Accurately perform all repair procedures according to factory specifications and company policies within a reasonable time frame and with a quality of work that exceeds customer expectations.
  • Maintaining a clean, professional, and safe working environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

Required Education/Experience/Certifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Degree or certification from an accredited body shop program, or a minimum of 3 years of relevant equivalent experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced service environment
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and components
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during repairs

Preferred Education/Experience/Certifications:

  • 5 plus years in automotive body repair
  • Auto interior and upholstery repair
  • Fabricating experience
  • Experience with auto estimating processes
