RETAIL SALES ASSOCIATE – Aftermarket / Salvage Auto Parts

Role Description

The Retail Sales Associate, located in Metro Detroit, MI will be responsible for day-to-day sales activities, customer service, product knowledge, and communication with customers both in-person and on the phone. Success will be achieved through the consistent execution of all company objectives, policies, and procedures, in line with Holbrook’s core values of providing the best quality at highly competitive prices.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist walkin customers with the purchase of auto parts.
  • Maintains a level of professionalism while communicating with customers.
  • Able to communicate basic auto part knowledge to customers.
  • Able to maneuver through the yard management system to sell both new and used parts.
  • Resolve customer escalation and complaints or escalate to store manager.
  • Assist customers with return and swap requests.
  • Able to broker parts from other yards to assist customer’s needs.
  • Properly fills out invoices with pertinent information that reflects the customer’s information and delivery method of part.
  • Collects payment(s) from customers for purchased parts.
  • Contact brokers via phone to order parts.
  • Utilizes the yard management system to order brokered parts.
  • Make sure returned parts are properly tagged and placed on the return shelf.
  • Communicates to yard about drivetrain purchases.
  • Provide pertinent information to yard about core drop offs.
  • Communicate with customers about where to drop off cores & pick up drivetrains.
  • Works with parts puller to have parts handed to customer for store pickups.
  • Communicate return and warranty information properly to customers.
  • Set the proper expectation with clients about part descriptions, and part delivery timeframe (if applicable).
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members
  • Must have an active driver license to be able to work deliveries, if needed
  • Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in related field a plus
  • Retail sales experience and knowledge of sales techniques
  • Experience in the automotive industry is a plus
