Now Hiring: Auto Body Technician

Location: Nichol's Body Co. - 3081 N. National Rd., Columbus, IN 47203

Status: Full Time

Total Compensation: $80,000 - $125,000 (flat rate opportunity)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Minimum 1–3 years of collision repair experience, or completion of a technical school program, OR apprenticeship program

  • Knowledge of vehicle repair processes and manufacturer repair procedures

  • Able to read and work from job orders and estimates with little supervision

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions

  • Ability to use a frame machine

  • I-CAR welding certification preferred

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-production environment

  • Able to lift up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 70 pounds occasionally

  • Able to bend, kneel, squat, crouch, and reach in tight or confined spaces

Responsibilities

  • Repair vehicles according to the estimate and established quality standards, including removing damaged parts and installing replacements

  • Restore body panels, structural components, and outer body parts to pre-accident condition using specialized tools and equipment

  • Communicate with management regarding additional repairs needed, potential delays, or changes to promised completion times

  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and operate all equipment safely

  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of safety hazards at all times

  • Wear all required personal protective equipment, including eye protection

  • Assist team members with repair and vehicle preparation as needed based on schedule and workload

  • Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations governing body shop operations, including hazardous waste disposal
