Location: Plymouth, MI

Type: Full-Time, Onsite

Shift Options:

• Day Shift: 6:30 AM – 5:30 PM

• Night Shift: 5:30 PM – 4:30 AM

Schedule: Monday – Friday + frequent overtime opportunities

Compensation: $25.00 – $40.00/hour DOE

About the Opportunity

A growing precision manufacturing company is seeking experienced CNC Set Up Technicians for both day and night shift operations. This is a high-production manufacturing environment with frequent machine setups throughout the day, making this an excellent fit for candidates with strong production machining experience rather than prototype or low-volume job shop backgrounds.

This role supports a diverse machining environment that includes both CNC mills and lathes, primarily 3-axis equipment with some 5-axis machines as well. Engineers handle programming, but technicians must be comfortable performing program edits, machine prove-outs, tooling adjustments, and maintaining production efficiency on the floor. Candidates with experience machining castings and familiarity with GD&T are highly preferred.

What You’ll Do

• Perform CNC machine setups on mills and lathes in a production environment

• Conduct machine prove-outs and make necessary edits at the machine

• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions

• Perform tooling changes, offsets, and setup adjustments

• Support production flow with multiple setups completed throughout the shift

• Troubleshoot machining and setup issues to minimize downtime

• Verify first-piece quality and maintain production standards

• Work closely with engineering and production teams to maintain throughput goals

• Maintain safe and organized work areas

What You Bring

• 3+ years of CNC setup experience in a production machining environment

• Experience with CNC mills and/or lathes

• Ability to perform program edits and machine prove-outs

• Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading

• Experience with high-volume or fast-paced manufacturing environments

• Ability to manage multiple setups per shift

• Experience machining castings is a plus

• Familiarity with 3-axis and/or 5-axis machining environments preferred

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work overtime and weekend hours as needed

What’s Offered

• Competitive hourly pay based on experience

• Significant overtime opportunities available

• BCBS medical, dental, and vision coverage available beginning the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment

• 401(k) program with auto-enrollment and company match available after eligibility period

• Employer match of 50% of the first 6% contributed

• Company-paid life insurance coverage available

• Employee assistance and wellness programs

• Stable, growing manufacturing environment with long-term opportunity
