Overall Responsibility:

The Vehicle Technician plays an extremely important role in customer satisfaction and the overall continued success of Miller Auto Plaza. The position is utilizing education and experience to diagnose the different sources of automotive problems and swiftly and accurately repair the diagnosed issue.


Key Areas of Responsibility:

Partner and communicate with all department employees as necessary.


Write vehicle damage repair estimates. 

Repair broken or worn mechanical components.

Maintain repair and service records.

Install equipment, components and systems. 

Repair electrical wiring, circuits and fixtures.

Maintain and execute Safety guidelines, policies and procedures at all times.

Responsible for keeping work area clean and organized, free of debris and trash.


Any other duties deemed necessary by management.


Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect repair operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc. Comply with all laws and regulations pertaining to hazardous materials. Report any deviations to management.


Maintain and execute health and safety guidelines, policies and procedures at all times. Including, but not limited to company expectations, state and federal laws, OSHA, Red Flags, Privacy and OFAC.


Maintain and wear all required safety and health personal protective equipment in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.


Other duties as deemed necessary by management.


Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS 

Must be presentable and professional appearing at all times

Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record

High school diploma or equivalent required

Automotive education preferred

2-3 years applicable experience preferred

Good organizational skills and time management

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Excellent listening skills

Knowledge of customer service principles and practices

Knowledge of relevant computer applications

Product knowledge

Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds or force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.


ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Pulling, lifting, grasping, tactile sense, repetitive motions, seeing, hearing, talking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, and pushing.


  • EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS

Phone, computer, fax, copier, scanner, hoist, various hand tools, various power tools, shampooer, vacuum, car wash, power washer and various chemicals.


WORKING CONDITIONS

Noise, extreme temperatures and wet/humid.

Mechanical, electrical, chemical, explosive, burns, fumes, gases, dusts and odors.
