Job Summary:
Marathon TS is seeking a Cloud Administrator Engineer to support a federal client in Fort Belvoir, VA. The role involves implementing, monitoring, and maintaining cloud solutions primarily within Microsoft Azure and AWS, ensuring compliance with government regulations and optimizing infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor, configure, and optimize Azure and AWS cloud environments.
• Configure and manage Windows & Linux virtual machines (VMs), including scale group configurations in multiple availability zones.
• Implement security measures, including Security Groups, VPNs, Firewalls, IAM policies, and third-party security tools.
• Configure and manage Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) for user identities and role management.
• Apply DoD STIGs and Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server, MS SQL Server, and RedHat OS.
• Implement, configure, and manage Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) and Linux Auto-Updater.
• Ensure cloud environments comply with DoD security requirements and best practices.
• Develop and manage automation scripts for provisioning, configuration management, and cloud resource management using Terraform, PowerShell, Bash, Perl, and Azure CLI.
• Work with Jenkins, Git, Ansible, SaltStack, and Puppet for version control and configuration management.
• Create and manage infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions to automate cloud deployments.
• Monitor system performance using AWS CloudWatch, AWS CloudTrail, Azure Monitor, DataDog, Splunk, and Grafana.
• Perform detailed performance analysis and troubleshooting at the OS and cloud level.
• Optimize workloads and ensure cost-effective use of cloud resources.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement cloud solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging cloud technologies and best practices.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 6 years of experience in information technology services delivery
• 3 years' experience with a BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• 5 years of experience managing Azure Cloud Services, including configuring and optimizing compute, storage, network, and security
• Implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies
• 4 years managing Windows and Linux servers using WSUS, RMP, and performing update administration
• 3 years applying DoD STIGs and GPOs to secure Windows and Linux systems
• 3 years working with version control and configuration management tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet)
• 3 years of hands-on experience in Infrastructure automation using PowerShell, Terraform, Bash, Ansible, and Azure CLI
• System administration for Windows & Linux environments (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS)
• Cloud security and compliance monitoring
• Strong working knowledge of cloud services and security: IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Lambda, Azure Resource Manager (ARM), Azure Functions
• Strong working knowledge of cloud automation tools: Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef
• Strong working knowledge of configuration and performance tuning of Windows & Linux OS
• Strong working knowledge of networking in cloud environments: VPNs, Firewalls, Security Groups, Subnets, VPCs
• Strong working knowledge of monitoring tools: Splunk, DataDog, Grafana
• Strong working knowledge of scripting languages: PowerShell, Bash, Perl, Python, Terraform, Azure CLI
