Position Summary:

Whether it's a long-haul fleet delivering essential goods or an independent owner-operator trying to make it home, our technicians' skill and expertise are what keep them moving.
The Body Shop Estimator is responsible for evaluating and preparing accurate damage estimates for heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles. This role involves assessing collision and structural damage, communicating with customers and insurance companies, coordinating repair work with technicians, and ensuring all estimates align with industry standards and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and communicate with customers to determine their needs by inspecting and assessing damage on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and commercial vehicles.
  • Accurately enter this information into our dealer management system to ensure clear communication of the issue and customer needs to our qualified technicians.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate damage estimates using industry-standard estimating software.
  • Collaborate with insurance adjusters to review and approve estimates.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding damage assessments, repair processes, timelines, and costs.
  • Order required parts and ensure timely delivery to meet repair deadlines.
  • Coordinate with body shop technicians to ensure all work is completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor repair progress and update customers and insurance providers as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) repair procedures and safety standards.
  • Maintain detailed and organized documentation of estimates, photos, supplements, and communications.
  • Invoice and close out repair orders as needed while ensuring accuracy and time/price alignment with our estimate(s).
  • Routinely review open repair orders with the Body Shop Manager.
  • Assist in final quality checks before vehicle delivery.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of heavy-duty truck components, structures, and repair techniques.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Experience:
  • Minimum 2-5 years in estimating for vehicle repairs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training a plus).
