Job description

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Auto Body Estimator to join our team at Reliable Auto Collision Inc. The ideal candidate will be the face of our shop, responsible for inspecting damaged vehicles, writing accurate repair plans, and managing the communication between the customer, our technicians, and insurance companies. If you have a deep understanding of collision repair processes and a knack for delivering excellent customer service, we want you on our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and Consult: Welcome customers, listen to their concerns, and thoroughly document their vehicle's damage and repair needs.
  • Write Accurate Estimates: Conduct detailed inspections of damaged vehicles and use estimating software to prepare precise, profitable repair plans (including parts, labor, and materials).
  • Insurance Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between the shop and insurance providers. Negotiate estimates, submit supplements, and ensure approvals are processed quickly.
  • Workflow Management: Order necessary parts, coordinate with auto body technicians, and track the vehicle's progress through the repair process.
  • Customer Communication: Keep customers updated on their vehicle's status, explain the repair process, and perform final walk-throughs upon delivery.
  • Quality Control: Review completed repairs to ensure they meet shop standards and match the final invoice before handing the keys back to the customer.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Auto Body Estimator or in a similar collision center role.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of standard industry estimating software (e.g., CCC ONE, Mitchell, Audatex).
  • Industry Knowledge: Thorough understanding of auto body repair techniques, structural frameworks, and parts identification.
  • Certifications: I-CAR or ASE certifications are highly preferred [or required].
