Automotive Body Shop Manager

At Stevens Point Auto Center, we take the full-service experience to a whole new level – not only are we selling new and used vehicles, but we also have a world class service and parts center, as well as a collision center all located in one convenient location. Stevens Point Auto Center offers three brands; Ford, Hyundai and Volkswagen; with the ability to work on all makes and models. We strive to meet the changing needs of our customers, as well as aim to provide an atmosphere that encourages employee teamwork, integrity and excellence.

As a Body Shop Manager, your responsibilities include:

  • The overseeing of day-to-day operations of the body shop
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with insurance adjusters
  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with our customers to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Give fair estimates of the cost of parts and time required for body work
  • Direct and schedule the work of our body shop employees, while monitoring the progress and completion of the vehicles in the shop
  • Monitors the maintenance of paint booths, frame straightening equipment, and other large, fixed assets to ensure long-term usage
  • Sustains knowledge of new equipment and tools available to keep our body shop up to date and competitive in the market
  • Maintain high-quality service repairs by conducting periodic spot checks of completed jobs
  • Understands and maintains compliance with federal, state and local regulations that affect body shop operations including, but not limited to, hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-know, and all safety equipment.
  • Monitors paper flow to ensure all documents are filled out correctly not only for our customers but for accounts receivables and payroll departments
  • Forecasts goals and objectives for the body shop department, and works with their team to ensure these are met
  • Prepares and administers an annual operating budget for the body shop 
  • Conducts technical training and/or recommends appropriate training schools for the employees
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications we are looking for:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Two to four years related experience and/or training in a body shop; or equivalent combination of education and ex
  • Minimum of two years of management experience required
  • Working knowledge of body repair methods
  • Proficient knowledge of dealership’s computer systems
  • Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Willing to submit to a drug screen & background check
