Position Summary
Balances, installs, and rotates tires. Stocks tires and batteries and repairs tires. Answers questions, makes recommendations, and assists members with purchasing/returning tires and batteries. Provides a high level of member service.
Job Duties
  • Locates member cars in the tire shop area of the lot. Lists body damage on service order. Drives member vehicle into install bay and onto hydraulic hoist. Raises auto.
  • Removes the wheel using an impact gun. Rolls wheel to mounting machine, removes tire from wheel. Cleans hub and wheel rim with wire brush. Attaches new valve stem, mounts new tire on wheel, fills tire to appropriate air pressure.
  • Operates automatic balance machine to get reading of proper weight and placement to balance wheel. Attaches weights (including tape weights) to rims with a weight hammer.
  • Mounts wheels to auto using the impact gun according to Tire Shop procedures.
  • Repairs flat tires for members and non-members.
  • Assists members in determining tire and battery needs, answers questions, makes product recommendations, sells tires.
  • Invoices tire purchase and service invoice. Loads tires on dolly or rolls tires to install area.
  • Alerts supervisor or manager to complete torque check and 10-point check and authorize vehicle release. Parks member auto in lot, and returns invoice and keys to sales desk.
  • Cleans the installation area by sweeping, mopping, spraying, and wiping.
  • Stocks tires and batteries in the sales area in accordance with Tire Shop Manager's merchandising plan.
  • Rings up orders. Receives accurate payment, makes change, processes checks, credit and debit charges, gives out receipt and submits order according to proper procedures. Calculates refund amount for certain warranty returns of tires and auto batteries.
  • Communicates with Tire Shop Manager, Buyers, Receiving Departments, and Inventory Auditors regarding special orders, quantity, status, price, delivery, and promotion of merchandise.
  • Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of potentially hazardous materials spills.
  • Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery.
  • Assists with department duties as necessary.
  • Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
