Hourly base pay rate is $15.10 - $22.69/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
Job Description
Perform vehicle inspections and prepare related documentation of overall vehicle condition in support of the processing and sale of client/customer consigned vehicles in lane and online.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify vehicle identification.
  • Enter basic vehicle identification information to database.
  • Inspect vehicle equipment and options and document results.
  • Assess and database enter any exterior vehicle damage.
  • Inspect and enter condition of vehicle interior, tires, frame and mechanical components.
  • Complete and verify data entry in support of documentation of vehicle condition.
  • Perform post sale inspections (PSI) and enter results in appropriate database.
  • Perform and document walk around inspections in support of online vehicle exchange (OVE) process.
  • Review completed vehicle condition reports with inspectors - confirm and provide advice regarding report results.
  • Attend meetings to share and receive job related information and complete training requirements.

Qualifications:
Minimum:
  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field.
  • OR the right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline;
  • OR 5 years' experience in a related field
  • Safe driver's needed; valid driver's license required
  • Basic computer software skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Previous body shop experience, mechanical experience, estimating experience a plus, but not required.
  • Body, paint and mechanical repair knowledge preferred.
  • Strong technical aptitude.
  • Familiarity with unibody and full-frame vehicles.
  • Good organizational skills needed.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to multitask, follow directions and take instruction required

Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.
  • Frequently required to crouch, bend, and kneel to look at side or underneath car.
  • Strength to lift hood or trunk. Bend while performing audits.
  • Reach inside or underneath vehicle.
  • Near vision abilities required to find dings and scratches, paint work, hail damage, frame/unibody, other exterior damage and Interior damage.
  • Able to identify exterior or interior colors.
  • Ability to deal with different lighting (i.e. exterior and interior lighting, natural and artificial light).
  • Requires physical ability and mental acuity to execute the duties of the position successfully within required timeframes to meet business requirements.

Work Environment:
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Moderate noise level. May be exposed to fumes and odors.
