Refinish Technician I

Pay Range: $19-$20 hourly

Role and Team

This role reports to the Body Shop or designated Manager and performs preparation work to damaged vehicles prior to the painting process and supports the body shop team in accomplishing daily production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicle for paint process by taping, masking, cleaning and remove parts in an efficient and accurate manner to meet customer expectations
  • Maintain a constant and smooth flow of prepped vehicles for the paint process
  • Assist with overall general shop duties such as cleaning, driving, organizing vehicle parking and staging
  • Communicate in a professional manner with team members and customers. Set a good personal example of attitude and performance
  • Resolve any internal and external customer inquiries in a friendly, courteous and professional manner; advise management of all complaints or incidents
  • Maintain productivity levels as set forth by management.
  • Maintain equipment and tools properly and advise manager of any needed equipment maintenance or breakdown
  • Follow and maintain all safety standards
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School or GED required
  • Previous experience in a body shop preferred
  • 1 year automotive/auction experience preferred
  • Must be 18 years of age with a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements
  • May be required to provide sufficient tools to perform the job

This position is subject to both inside and outside environmental working conditions, including temperature changes, outside weather conditions, slightly elevated ambient noise levels, and minor atmospheric conditions affecting skin or respiratory systems, such as fumes, odors and dusts associated with body shop and paint operations.
