Job description

Drivers are company representatives responsible for the safe operation of motorized vehicles, both automatic and manual transmissions. Proper operation may be done while transporting vehicles or moving vehicles on lot, dependent upon what they are assigned. They also properly store vehicles as instructed.
JOB DUTIES
  • Follow relevant safety regulations and state laws governing vehicle operation.
  • Test vehicle equipment such as lights, brakes, horns, or windshield wipers, to ensure safe operation PRIOR to driving vehicle.
  • Notify lead driver/ supervisor of vehicle problems.
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance such as regulating tire press and adding gasoline, oil and water.
  • Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles.
  • Perform errands for employer such as delivering or picking up mail and small packages.
  • Complete accident reports when necessary.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to drive automatic and manual cars, light trucks, and vans (non-cdl vehicles) to and from different locations.
  • Must be available to work as assigned between 10-25 hours per week with a varying schedule
  • Check the vehicle for safe operation PRIOR to driving the vehicle, reporting any safety issues immediately.
  • Follow all road rules and speed limits
  • Ability to follow a map or GPS directions

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to get in and out of a vehicle without injury
  • Ability to drive both an automatic and manual transmission

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time (up to 6 hours or 350 miles) with appropriate rest breaks either riding as a passenger or operating a vehicle.
  • Must be able to do light maintenance such as regulating tire pressure and adding gasoline, oil and water as necessary to operate the vehicle.
  • Must be able to operate a vehicle in all types of weather and all times of day or night.
  • Must be able to complete all required forms.
  • Must be able to follow directions or follow a map.
  • Only light lifting is required.
  • Must be able to exit and enter a vehicle without assistance.
  • Must have 20/20 vision (with or without corrective lenses) including peripheral vision.
  • Must be able to hear with or without assistance.
