Personal Support Worker (PSW) specializing in Intellectual Disability and Autism Spectrum Disorder Location: Montreal and surrounding areas Job Type: Full-time / Part-time Company: ASICC-MED – Services to RI/RPA & specialized settings Salary: Up to $29/contract plus (bonuses, transportation reimbursement, continuing education, etc.) About the position: ASICC-MED is looking for Personal Care Attendants (PCAs) specializing in intellectual disability (ID) and autism spectrum disorders (ASD) to support living environments, RI/RPA and partner organizations requiring adapted and professional support. Do you want to contribute to the well-being of adults with special needs, in a humane, stable and respectful environment? This opportunity is for you. Responsibilities: To offer personalized support to users with an intellectual disability or autism spectrum disorder. Provide hygiene, comfort and safety care according to intervention plans. Apply appropriate behavioral approaches and educational intervention strategies. Promote the development of autonomy and the maintenance of acquired skills. To intervene within a structured and secure framework. Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team (stakeholders, educators, community leaders). To prepare and support users in their daily activities. Prepare the necessary progress notes and reports. Job requirements: Training for PABs, healthcare assistants or equivalent. Experience with clients with intellectual disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorder (a major asset). Knowledge of best practices in behavioral intervention. Ability to work with users presenting behavioral challenges. Excellent interpersonal skills, patience and a keen sense of observation. Criminal record check (mandatory requirement). Evidence of required training depending on the living environment: PDSB CPR / First Aid Ability to follow protocols established by partners (RI/RPA). Required skills: Empathy and respect Adaptability Stress management Rigour and a sense of responsibility Clear and professional communication Working conditions: Schedule: varies depending on the environment (day/evening/night).
