Job description

Central Data Management (CDM)Position Overview

Join our team as a Central Data Management professional, supporting critical SAP material data and processes. This role plays a key part in ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration across multiple business functions.


Relationships
  • Reports to the Materials Manager
  • No supervisory responsibility
  • Interacts & communicates with Material, Fin acct, cost acct, purchasing, product managers, warehouse & production personnel at BUS
  • CDM personnel at BAU

Responsibilities & Duties
  • Manage new item setups for all BUS material (With a primary focus on Equipment spare parts manufacturing and procurement)
  • Maintain basic data for the Material Master in SAP
  • Maintain all Bills of Materials in SAP
  • Maintain packaging instructions
  • Create new routings
  • Maintain tariff codes
  • Provide Materials Master custom reporting when necessary
  • Expected to work independently as well as in group settings

Education
  • HS diploma or GED required
  • 2-year degree in a related field is preferred
  • Equivalent training & experience can be substituted

Experience
  • 2 years of related experience in a medium sized industrial manufacturing company preferred
  • 1 year of machining experience

Knowledge
  • Product Knowledge, Materials Planning, New Product Introduction, Cost Accounting, Material Lifecycle
  • Customs Classification methodology
  • SAP/ERP systems
  • Weight, monetary & units-of-measure conversions
  • Blueprint Reading and understanding of tolerances
  • Planning and Executing machining production processes
  • General understanding of technical specifications

  • Effective oral & written communication skills
  • Ability to deal with frequently priorities
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships with all levels of the organization
