Associate Manager, Field Sales Compensation

Position Summary

The Associate Manager, Field Sales Compensation is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely administration of sales incentive compensation programs within Prudential's Individual Life Insurance business. This role administers compensation processing, including data validation, reconciliations, payroll file preparation, reporting, testing, documentation, and issue resolution while maintaining strong operational controls and audit readiness. The position partners closely with Sales, Finance, Payroll, HR, Compensation, and Data Management teams to ensure compensation plans are administered accurately and consistently.

This is a highly analytical role that requires strong attention to detail, accountability, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process sales incentive compensation payments accurately and timely in accordance with approved compensation plans.
  • Support monthly and semi-monthly compensation and payroll cycles, including compensation-related employee changes such as hires, terminations, transfers, territory changes, and plan updates.
  • Create monthly variable comp summaries and forecasts for financial accruals.
  • Validate, reconcile, and analyze data from multiple sources to ensure the accuracy and integrity of compensation calculations and reporting.
  • Investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and proactively resolve issues before payroll processing.
  • Prepare and maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready documentation supporting compensation calculations, approvals, adjustments, and operational processes.
  • Participate in testing compensation plans, system enhancements, and process changes; document results and support issue resolution through implementation.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve issues, support reporting needs, and ensure consistent compensation administration.
  • Communicate risks, issues, and business impacts clearly while supporting internal controls, compliance requirements, audits, and continuous process improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, logical functions, data validation, and large dataset analysis.
  • Experience performing data reconciliations and documenting discrepancies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and recurring deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in sales compensation, commissions, payroll, finance, accounting, sales operations, or related functions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Access or similar data extraction and reporting tools.
  • Experience supporting testing, compliance, audit, internal controls, or reporting activities.
  • Financial services or insurance industry experience preferred.

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $89,000.00 to $147,000.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
