Witham Family Hotels is seeking an Income Audit Specialist to join our Accounting team in a full-time, year-round role.

In this position, you will play a key role in protecting the financial integrity of our company by ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial data across our properties. You will oversee the daily audit process, reviewing financial activity across multiple hotel systems to verify transactions, identify discrepancies, and ensure reports are accurate, complete, and balanced.

This role requires more than simply reviewing numbers. You will investigate discrepancies, troubleshoot issues, trace information across multiple systems, and uncover solutions when things don't align. You will become a trusted expert in Excel, hotel operating systems, and financial reporting processes while serving as a resource for our properties.

Your attention to detail and ability to connect the dots will help ensure our financial records remain reliable and our operations continue to run smoothly throughout the year, including during our busiest seasonal transitions.

Position Details:
  • Schedule: Full-Time, Year-Round

  • Department: Accounting

  • Shifts: Primarily Monday through Friday, with occasional schedule adjustments based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Learn and oversee the daily audit process across all our properties, reviewing financial activity across multiple systems, including Book4Time, Opera, Symphony, Shift4, Heartland, GiftUp, Jonas Chorum, Silverware and Stripe.

  • Complete daily income audits by reviewing revenue activity, payment transactions, adjustments, refunds, deposits, and other financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Reconcile financial data across multiple systems and investigate discrepancies to identify the source of variances and ensure proper resolution.
  • Review and validate daily hotel reports, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded and supporting documentation is complete.
  • Process the billing and payments for the Bar Harbor Laundry Company.
  • Process and audit imported data using complex Excel worksheets, maintaining accuracy across multiple interconnected spreadsheets and reporting tools.
  • Collaborate with department managers and property leaders across all hotels to resolve discrepancies, improve processes, and support accurate financial reporting.
  • Take on additional accounting-related tasks as needed.


    Skills & Qualifications:
    • Advanced Excel skills are required, including the ability to work confidently with large datasets, complex formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and interconnected spreadsheets.
    • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and resolve issues independently.
    • Ability to reconcile financial data across multiple systems while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Experience with Sage 50, or similar accounting software is preferred.
    • Comfortable learning and navigating multiple software platforms and adapting to new systems and processes.
    • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
    • Self-motivated and dependable with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with various leaders.
    • Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, honesty, and integrity while handling confidential payroll and employee information.
