Staff Accountant reports to: Director of Finance We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Staff Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role will support daily accounting operations, with a strong focus on accounts receivable, reconcilations, financial reporting, and maintaining accurate financial records. Accounts Receivable experience is required for this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the accounts receivable cycle, including invoicing, cash application, account reconciliations, and collections support.
  • Monitor customer accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve billing or payment issues.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments.
  • Perform monthly bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Support preparation of financial statements, management reports, and accounting analyses.
  • Assist with accounts payable, expense reporting, and other general accounting activities as needed.
  • Provide documentation and support for audits and internal reviews.
  • Identify process improvements and help strengthen accounting controls.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Finance.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 2–4 years of accounting experience, including hands‑on Accounts Receivable experience.
  • Strong understanding of the accounts receivable process and general accounting principles.
  • Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, invoicing, cash applications, and collections support.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, sorting, filtering, and data analysis.
  • Experience with accounting software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting month-end close and financial reporting.
  • Experience with accounting system such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • CPA, progress toward CPA, or relevant accounting certification.
