Position for the 2026-2027 school year Position: Discipline Specialist Department: Transportation Reports to: Transportation Director, Erich Anderson Contract Days: 200 days, 7.5 hours daily Status: Non-Exempt Mandatory Requirements: OSBI Background Check and a valid Driver's License are required Essential Functions: Responsible for overseeing and managing student discipline for all bus routes. This person plays a crucial role in establishing and maintaining a positive and safe learning environment by implementing and enforcing school policies related to student behavior. They help create and establish the school's code of conduct and other policies related to student discipline
Duties to include, but not limited to:Monitoring student behavior via video equipment, investigating incidents, and addressing disciplinary issues.Communication with students, parents, and staff via phone and emailMaintain accurate records of disciplinary actions, and may be responsible for reporting data to relevant school personnelRequired to maintain confidentiality at all times regarding student and bus driver behaviorsOther duties as assignedExperience preferred:Must have a Class B CDL with Airbrakes, Passenger, and School Bus endorsementsExperience driving school buses and school routesMust be able to substitute drive bus routes as neededProficient with technology, including: audio/visual equipment, Microsoft applications, computer knowledge, and emailsKnowledge/Skills/Abilities: Computer literate. Ability to follow all district policies and procedures. Ability to work independently, displaying initiative and enthusiasm for the tasks being done
Demonstrate strong communication skills, orally and in writing, with faculty, staff, team members, and administrators. Ability to work without supervision and work as a team player. Ability to document records accurately.
Ability to listen effectively. Language Skills: Ability to speak clearly. Ability to read and interpret general written instructions in the English language.
Ability to effectively communicate with supervisor, school personnel, and co-workers. Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic math functions such as addition and subtraction. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
