Aspis is expanding its audiovisual services team and seeking a customer-focused Level 1 AV Service Technician to provide onsite AV and video teleconference (VTC) support at a secure federal campus in Kansas City. In this entry-level role you will keep conference and VTC rooms running for senior leaders โ€” setting up calls, supporting live meetings, and performing first-line troubleshooting and break-fix. This is a full-time, onsite position, with schedule to be determined by team lead after hire (Mondayโ€“Friday, 7:00 a.m.โ€“5:00 p.m.). It is not a remote position.

This is a full-time W-2 position supporting a federal government client as part of a contract delivery team. This is not a remote position, you must be able to commute to and work from a job site in the Kansas City metropolitan area Monday-Friday. This position is ineligible for telework. Relocation assistance will not be considered. The Kansas City, Missouri metropolitan area is strongly preferred and candidates who reside in and can work from the Kansas City metro will receive preference; however, residency there is not required, and we will consider candidates elsewhere in the United States who apply and are willing to relocate themselves. Due to the support a federal client, working abroad (outside of the United States) is explicitly prohibited. Travel to Kansas City will not be reimbursed. This position requires a federal security clearance that is limited to U.S. citizens only; you must be a U.S. citizen to qualify for this position.


An AV Service Technician may perform any combination of the functions below based on assignment and experience level.

Level 1 โ€” Daily Support & Break-Fix

  • Create conference bridges within Cisco Call Manager and initiate VTC calls, confirming connectivity for rooms supporting directors and executives.
  • Troubleshoot VTC connectivity issues and provide immediate small-scale break-fix so meetings can start and continue.
  • Provide daily onsite meeting support and presenter assistance in conference rooms and large venues.
  • Provide pre-meeting support in large rooms (e.g., Meeting Center, Cafรฉ), including startup assistance and presenter training.
  • Notify meeting users promptly when a room is inoperable, post required repair signage, and log/update tickets from the Buyer's ticketing system, phone, chat, or email.
  • Respond to Main Campus issues within 1 hour and escalate unresolved issues to the support desk within 2 hours.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of AV/VTC systems and conference-room equipment (e.g., Cisco, Crestron, Extron, Biamp/QSC, SVSI), appropriate to experience level.
  • Ability to diagnose, repair, and reprogram AV/VTC equipment and to support live meetings for senior leaders.
  • Strong customer-service orientation and clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical users.
  • Ability to lift and mount displays/equipment, work on ladders/lifts, and follow cabling and TEMPEST red/black separation standards.

Background Check:

  • Successful completion of reference check.
  • Successful completion of a commercial background check.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Successful completion of an OF-306 (as a contractor).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE โ€œQโ€ clearance (SCI certification required for SCIF access).
  • Must pass Access Suitability Screening

Location: Onsite at the Kansas City National Security Campus; not a remote position.

Degree Required: High school diploma/GED required; associate's or technical training preferred; equivalent experience/certifications considered.

Experience Required: 0โ€“2 years of AV/VTC or related technical support experience.

Industry Certifications:Manufacturer/industry certification (e.g., AVIXA CTS or OEM) preferred; willingness to pursue certification required.
