Job description

Position Summary

This is an onsite position located in Washington D.C. TOP SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED.

National Capitol Contracting is seeking an Audio Visual Engineer to support a newly awarded contract. In this position you will be responsible for designing, engineering, and supporting enterprise-level audio and video systems across conference rooms and collaborative environments. This role requires a highly skilled professional who can develop innovative AV solutions, provide advanced troubleshooting and programming support, and ensure seamless user experiences across a variety of platforms and technologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Engineer and implement audio and video solutions for enterprise-deployed systems and shared meeting spaces.
  • Design, specify, and modify AV systems including microphones, speakers, processors, displays, and control interfaces.
  • Develop and maintain acoustic and video configurations optimized for diverse room environments.
  • Support system installation, configuration, and testing of computer- and component-based AV systems.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting and end-user support for both new and existing systems.
  • Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to ensure quality, performance, and scalability of AV deployments.
  • Maintain accurate system documentation and contribute to continuous improvement of AV engineering standards.

Minimum Requirements

  • Active Top Secret clearance required at the time of application, with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI Polygraph in the future.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in AV system design, engineering, and integration (or equivalent combination of experience and certifications).
  • Proven expertise in audio and video signal flow, acoustic design, and room configuration.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise AV technologies, including DSPs, control systems, and video conferencing platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex AV systems and provide excellent customer support.
  • Ability to work independently on complex assignments requiring innovation and technical judgment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Industry Certifications such as: Certified Technology Specialist (CTS), Certified Technology Specialist Design (CTS-D), Certified Technology Specialist Installation (CTS-I).
  • Experience working with government contracting.
  • Familiarity with network-based AV technologies.

Special Position Requirements

Schedule: MONDAY-FRIDAY
Travel: 15-20% - majority will consist of local travel to other campuses (Quantico, Winchester, Chantilly, etc.). Rare occasion travel will be required outside of the state.

Environment/Physical Demands: Many of our site campuses are large and require travel by foot, ability to lift 30 pounds, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces.
