Location: Cincinnati, OH, 45227

Position Overview

The Stage Hand is responsible for assisting with the setup, operation, maintenance, and tear-down of event production equipment and staging elements for live events, concerts, corporate meetings, festivals, social events, and special productions. The Stage Hand provides support to the Audio-Visual team, Front of House (FOH) Engineers, Production Managers, and event staff by ensuring equipment is properly staged, organized, transported, and maintained throughout event operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring events are executed safely, efficiently, and professionally. Weekend, evening, and holiday availability is required based on event schedules.

Job QualificationsEducation amp; Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous event production, stagehand, concert, theater, hospitality, or AV experience is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to learn and follow event production procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must possess a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Preferred Experience
  • Live event production.
  • Audio Visual setup, strike, and operation.
  • Stage setup and breakdown.

Job Functions amp; DutiesEvent Setup amp; Production Support
  • Assist with the setup and tear-down of stages, risers, drape, lighting, audio, video, and production equipment.
  • Assist with stage set up, room flips and venue conversions for events.
  • Help position speakers, microphones, monitors, staging, and production equipment.
  • Support event production teams in preparing venues before event start times.
Cable Management
  • Run, organize, tape down, coil, and store audio, video, power, and data cables.
  • Maintain clean and professional cable paths throughout event spaces.
  • Ensure cables are safely secured to minimize trip hazards and maintain event safety standards.
Stage Operations
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized stage environment during events.
  • Help manage stage equipment and ensure equipment is positioned correctly.
  • Support performers, presenters, and production staff as directed.
  • Monitor backstage and production areas for safety and organization.
FOH (Front of House) Support
  • Assist FOH Engineers and AV Technicians with event setup and operations.
  • Help distribute, collect, and maintain microphones, cables, and production equipment.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and equipment changes during events as directed by technical staff.
  • Provide general production support throughout the duration of events.
Load-In amp; Load-Out
  • Assist with loading and unloading production equipment.
  • Safely transport equipment throughout the venue.
  • Properly store and organize equipment after events.
  • Assist with inventory counts and equipment tracking during load-in and load-out processes.
Equipment Care amp; Organization
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of production equipment.
  • Assist with equipment inspections before and after events.
  • Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment to management.
  • Help maintain warehouse, storage, and production areas.
Safety amp; Asset Protection
  • Follow all company safety policies and event production best practices.
  • Assist in protecting company assets and equipment.
  • Maintain awareness of guests, clients, and team members during event operations.
  • Report any safety concerns or incidents immediately to management.
Schedule Expectations
  • Must be available to work weekends.
  • Evening and holiday availability may be required.
