Job description

The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for providing exemplary service to Hotel clients with a focus on team achievement of revenue for the hotel to meet and exceed metrics.  They will work with group and event clients to finalize event details maximize meeting space and food and beverage products and services, manage room blocks and rooming lists, and coordinate the critical communications of the group needs between key departments on behalf of the sales team.  This individual is organized, and detailed in communication with clients, and internal departments. This person loves to find creative solutions to clients’ needs, maximize business opportunities for the hotel, and welcome clients back in the future by thoroughly communicating with various departments to ensure an exceptional client experience. They enjoy being part of a team and interact positively with other team and hotel members. They enjoy managing multiple projects at the same time and are passionate about making guests' and clients' experiences with Madison Beach Hotel memorable.

Compensation: $62,000 - $72,000

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicates with internal and external clients including telephone calls, emails, and hotel visits, prepares and distributes BEO to share clients' needs and expectations regarding upcoming groups and events at the hotel. 
  • Conducts hotel site tours, and meets with clients at the hotel to finalize event or group details.
  • Works closely with all operational departments, including banquets, culinary, and front office on event execution requirements and service delivery. 
  • Works with hotel Property Management System (PEP), hotel Customer Relationship Management system (Salesforce/Delphi.fdc) and uses other tools (Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel) to monitor room blocks and rooming lists, generate group member status reports, event orders, group resumes and billing for groups and events. 
  • Works with outside vendors, including audio/visual production partners, and group vendors to ensure client satisfaction.  
  • Utilizes creativity and culinary and event planning skills, learned or trained, to properly suggest event setup and menu solutions for clients within property-targeted budgets. 
  • Participates in daily, and weekly status meetings as required, and generates revenue forecast reports and details of upcoming events.

Job Skills and Qualifications

  • 2+ years of sales experience in hotel sales, or catering.
  • Bachelor’s degree (Hospitality or Hotel/Restaurant preferred); or four years equivalent experience and/or training, Hospitality or Hotel/Restaurant preferred.
  • Experience in managing/using sales automation (Delphi.fdc preferred) & PMS systems preferred.
  • Current Drivers’ License.
  • TIPS certification is desired, but not required.
