Support and Staging Engineer

Carrollton, TX

SIMStation is currently searching for a full-time Support and Staging Engineer to support multiple phases of the client lifecycle, including service contract support, AV system staging, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and customer communication.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience with advanced proficiency in professional audio-video systems staging and support
  • Experience configuring and testing A/V and server/PC systems in a staging lab environment
  • Experience with AV over IP systems, including DANTE audio, network video switchers, and related technologies
  • Strong knowledge of rack building, cable management, cable testing, certification, and labeling
  • Experience providing clients with high-level remote technical support
  • Experience managing technical documentation, including network summaries, bills of materials, and signal flows
  • Ability to learn and become proficient using internal SIMStation technologies and workflows
  • Strong communication, ownership, and follow-through with the ability to coordinate across project and technical teams
  • Interest in growing into a Support & Staging Team Lead role within 6-12 months as performance and department needs evolve
  • Knowledge of low-voltage installation standards and construction processes is preferred
  • CTS-I certification is preferred
  • Medical simulation experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Technical Support & Client Service:

  • Provide technical support for service contract clients
  • Provide clients with high-level remote technical support
  • Provide exemplary customer support and clear internal and external communications
  • Troubleshoot technical issues across AV, server/PC, networking, and SIMStation software environments

AV System Staging, Configuration & Quality Assurance:

  • Configure, test, and troubleshoot AV systems in the Carrollton, TX office
  • Ensure quality of AV system staging using SIMStation specifications and checklists
  • Perform configuration and testing of A/V and server/PC systems in a staging lab environment
  • Support AV over IP systems, including DANTE audio, network video switchers, and related technologies
  • Support rack building, cable management, cable testing, certification, and labeling standards

Project Coordination & Technical Documentation:

  • Study system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals for planning, staging, and post-install testing/support
  • Review project designs with the project team for accuracy, completeness, and system performance
  • Create and manage accurate technical documentation, including network summaries, bills of materials, signal flows, and related project documentation
  • Coordinate closely with Project Management and technical teams to support successful project execution and client readiness

Process Improvement & Leadership Development:

  • Provide critical feedback for the continual improvement of Support & Staging department processes, standards, and checklists
  • Learn and become proficient using internal SIMStation technologies, including ticketing systems, proprietary software, and department workflows
  • Demonstrate ownership, follow-through, and consistent technical judgment in support and staging activities
  • Develop the skills needed to coordinate work, communicate priorities, and grow into a future Support & Staging Team Lead role
