Audio Production Intern information

What does an audio production intern do?

An Audio Production Intern assists with various tasks related to recording, editing, and producing audio content. Interns often help set up equipment, manage sound checks, edit audio files, and support the audio production team during live sessions or studio recordings. This role provides hands-on experience with industry-standard software and hardware, and is ideal for students or recent graduates interested in pursuing a career in audio engineering or production.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as an audio production intern?

To thrive as an Audio Production Intern, you need a basic understanding of audio engineering principles, familiarity with recording processes, and often a relevant educational background in audio or media production. Experience using digital audio workstations (DAWs) like Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Ableton Live, as well as knowledge of microphones and sound equipment, is typically required. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn help you stand out in this collaborative and fast-paced environment. These skills and qualities are crucial for producing high-quality audio content and supporting the production team efficiently.

What types of projects and tasks can I expect to work on as an audio production intern?

You may also be tasked with organizing sound libraries, preparing session templates, and supporting engineers during live or studio productions. This hands-on experience offers exposure to industry-standard software and equipment, and you'll often collaborate closely with producers, sound engineers, and talent, gaining valuable insight into the full audio production process.
