Job description

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is seeking an Aviation Engineer / Project Manager to join our Portland (OR) Aviation team. Our clients including Tri-Cities Airport, Bellingham International Airport, Crater Lake-Klamath Regional Airport and Roseburg Regional Airport provide a steady stream of repeat work, with some client relationships spanning more than 30 years. Clients trust Mead and Hunt with their most complex, demanding engineering needs such as the $500M King County International Airport - Boeing Field Taxiway Bravo program and the $150M Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport's runway realignment, leverage the team's multifaceted expertise.
Responsibilities include:
  • Serving as the project manager for aviation projects
  • Leading and performing aviation civil engineering tasks
  • Preparing reports, budgets, cost estimates, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, and permits
  • Leading proactive client interactions and communications with regards to FAA programming, and state and government agencies
  • Performing QA/QC tasks
  • Supporting onsite during construction as the Engineer of Record, providing construction management/construction administration management to resident engineering teams.
  • Travel within the FAA Seattle ADO Region is required (approximately 10% of time)

A valid driver's license and good driving record is preferred. A background check may be required.
The successful candidate must have:
  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field from an accredited college or university AND at least eight (8) years of relevant experience
  • PE required

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:
  • Experience leading complex aviation design and construction projects
  • Airport design experience at non-hub airports (or larger)
  • Experience serving as the project manager on aviation projects
  • Experience mentoring and leading engineering project teams
  • Construction management experience
  • Minium one year of experience at a project manager level
  • Licensed civil engineer in Washington or Oregon (or has the ability to obtain state specific license through NCEES)
  • Proficient AutoCAD Civil 3D skill set

Salary Range: $146,000 to $166,000 - Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
