Job description

Job Summary:
The Audio-Visual Technician will act as an aid to in-house and off-site guests and clientele requiring Audio-Visual support services.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for handling in-house and off-site client requests.
  • Responsible for maintenance and service to all in-house and off-site AV equipment.
  • Responsible for the sales and promoting of our services to in-house guests and offsite clientele.
  • Responsible for the operation of technical Audio-Visual gear and services including, but not limited to the following:
    • Digital audio consoles
    • Wireless audio systems
    • DMX lighting software
    • Video presentation software such as Pro Presenter
    • Basic projection/ pixel mapping software
    • Video switching/scaling/distribution devices
    • Adobe Software related to video, image, audio, and motion graphic creation and editing.
  • Technical understanding of hybrid A-V systems such as broadcast HD-SDI, DVI, HDMI as well as video conferencing hardware and software; Polycom, Tandberg, Lync, WebEx, GoTo meeting.
  • Video streaming principles, embedded audio, and various HD video streaming codecs.
  • Maintains inventory control of all AV equipment.
  • Must be able to assist in training Banquet/ A-V Setup team in A-V Technologies as well as banquet event setup.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to obtain any government-required licenses or certificates as well as A-V trade certifications.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Adobe Software

Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in an Audio-Visual related role.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment with considerable noise.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
