Job description

University Volkswagen and Audi Seattle is a top-performing Dealership, and we are looking for a passionate and talented Parts Counterperson to join our Parts Team. The successful candidate should have prior experience in an automotive parts department and will be comfortable switching between a sales role to the public and a support role to internal technicians. The Parts Counterperson will work closely with the Parts Manager and the rest of the Parts Team.

Any job offer will be conditioned on passing a drug test for the following substances: Benzodiazepines, Barbiturates, Methadone, Propoxyphene, Cocaine, Heroin, Codeine, Morphine, Amphetamines, PCP. We do not test for marijuana or THC.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers in selecting required auto parts, suggest appropriate companion products, offer specials, and ensure that the customer is made aware of the full product line.
  • Communicate with customers regarding the status of their order in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Support service technicians in selecting parts needed for repairs in progress to ensure the accuracy of orders while trying to increase shop efficiency.
  • Support service technicians by ordering parts not in stock and coordinating with the service consultant and technician on arrival date.
  • Provide the highest level of customer service to internal and external clients to ensure that they are happy to visit us and eager to return.
  • Process special orders and coordinate with the Sales and Service departments for installation and delivery.
  • Maintain merchandising and displays.
  • Learn about products, features, and accessories. Attend product and training courses.
  • Make outgoing calls and handle incoming sales calls effectively.
  • Ensure timely follow up and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience as a parts counter person not required but preferred – on the job training available. Hiring immediately!
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience working with current technology, computer systems, and software is preferred.
  • Prior experience working as an individual as well as a member of a team preferred.
  • Demonstrated history of working well with internal and external audiences and often multiple clients at a time.
  • Possess a genuine willingness to learn, be intuitive, resourceful, and coachable.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
