  • Inspecting equipment and documenting operational condition
  • Capturing detailed equipment photos and creating accurate descriptions
  • Working outdoors at auction facilities and customer locations
  • Preparing auction documentation and obtaining vehicle/equipment titles

  • Digger Derricks
  • Construction Equipment
  • Fleet Vehicles
  • Commercial Trucks

Sales & Business Development
In addition to supporting auction operations, you will:
  • Develop and grow customer relationships throughout your assigned territory
  • Generate new consignments from utility, fleet, construction, and industrial customers
  • Conduct in-person sales calls and business development activities
  • Prospect for new auction opportunities
  • Attend trade shows and industry events
  • Conduct telephone outreach and follow-up activities
  • Support customer hospitality and relationship-building initiatives
  • Work closely with Altec and JJ Kane teams to identify future auction opportunities

What We're Looking For
Successful candidates typically possess:
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence working independently in a territory-based role
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort around heavy equipment
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Willingness to learn auction operations and equipment valuation processes

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Residence within the NYC Metropolitan Area or Long Island territory
  • Ability and willingness to travel overnight as needed
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of successful outside sales experience
  • Experience in heavy equipment, construction equipment, transportation, fleet, utility, industrial, or related industries
  • Experience operating heavy equipment
  • Basic mechanical troubleshooting experience
  • Customer-facing sales experience

Compensation
Starting salary range: Starts at $85,000 to $100,000 plus sales incentive, with job level adjustments possible based on experience. Position also includes company car.
