Job Title: Construction Law Associate Attorney

Location: New York City Metropolitan Area (Zip Code: 10007) | Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Full-Time)

Our client is a premier construction and real estate law firm dedicated to providing exceptional legal representation, transactional drafting, and litigation defense across the infrastructure sector. Recognized for handling high-stakes disputes and providing strategic counseling, the firm operates with a strong focus on professional excellence, technical execution, and client-service trust.

Role Overview

This is a mid-to-senior level transactional and litigation position for an Associate Attorney with five to nine (5–9) years of experience. Operating in a hybrid setup within the New York City Metropolitan Area, the role involves managing complex construction law matters, handling construction litigation, drafting/negotiating high-value agreements, steering Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) processes, and delivering direct risk management counsel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Construction Litigation & Defense: Manage and execute complex construction litigation lifecycles, executing high-quality research, legal writing, and oral advocacy.

  • Contract Drafting & Negotiation: Structure, draft, and negotiate technical construction contracts, design agreements, and project management documentation.

  • Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR): Lead and support mediation, arbitration, and formal dispute resolution pathways on behalf of industry stakeholders.

  • Risk Management Counseling: Provide data-driven legal advice, proactive contract reviews, and risk mitigation strategies to corporate clients.

Required Qualifications
  • Core Experience Level: Minimum 5 to 9 years of dedicated Construction Law experience.

  • Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

  • Licensing: Active Bar Admission in good standing in either New York (NY) or New Jersey (NJ).

  • Technical Legal Skills: Proven expertise in construction litigation, technical contract structuring, dispute resolution, and strong negotiation capabilities.

  • Professional Alignment: Exceptional oral/written skills, strict adherence to deadlines, and a strong client-service orientation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Attorneys with deep, established construction law practice backgrounds.

  • Former District Attorneys, Prosecutors, or Corporation Counsel looking to transition their heavy litigation and trial experience into the construction sector.
