Volt is immediately hiring for a Cisco Network Engineer in Melbourne, FL
Job description:
As a Cisco Network Engineer Your responsibilities will include:
Work with field force to install equipment and build and troubleshoot.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
  • Document and update circuit designs across MetaSolv, DICE, FINS/FMS.
  • Support SONET/circuit installs, activations, MACs, and field tech coordination.
  • Provision circuits via Cisco CPO/CTC and configure ancillary equipment.
  • Troubleshoot activation issues with carriers/field teams.
  • Monitor optical alarms, analyze root causes, and ensure accurate as?built documentation.
  • Support scheduled/after?hours maintenance and assist with testing and network issue analysis.

This is a 12-month, Contract with possible hire opportunity.
Clearance: Public Trust Clearance
Ideal candidate must have:
  • Bachelor's + 4 yrs OR Associate's + 8 yrs relevant experience.
  • 2+ yrs FTI PNOCC experience; strong NAS Operations & Change Management knowledge.
  • Expertise in SONET, optical circuits, and technologies (GigE, T1/T3, VT, STS, OC3?OC192).
  • Experience with Cisco ONS platforms, CPO, CTC, Fujitsu NetSmart.
  • Familiarity with MetaSolv and DICE preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and support after?hours events.

Nice to have skills:
  • TDM knowledge; telecom provisioning background.
  • Experience in large carrier networks (FTI, AT&T, Verizon).
  • MEF?CECP certification.

Pay Range: $50 - $54 per hour.
