Job description

Summary

QuEra Computing Inc. is seeking a talented and driven Postdoctoral Fellow with a background in quantum error correction (QEC) or related areas to contribute to our neutral atom quantum computing research and innovation efforts.ย This role is a fixed-term position.ย The ideal candidate will develop innovative QEC protocols, design their concrete implementation in neutral atom hardware, and evaluate how they interplay with quantum algorithms. This will inform both near-term applications and long-term architectures. This is a unique opportunity to shape the design direction of one of the most promising quantum computing platforms, while working in close collaboration with QuEra scientists and engineers in an industry setting.
ย
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop novel QEC schemes with lower overhead in space and time.
  • Design QEC schemes suited to neutral atom platforms and collaborate with software teams on their simulation and implementation.
  • Propose and evaluate scalable quantum architectures, error correction schemes, and control strategies.
  • Collaborate with experimental teams to guide system design, interpret results, and validate models.
  • Contribute to technical publications, white papers, and patent filings.
  • Participate in internal knowledge-sharing sessions and external scientific outreach (e.g., conferences, workshops).
Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Physics, Computer Science, Quantum Information, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in quantum error correction.
  • Track record of peer-reviewed publications in top-tier journals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with experimental quantum computing platforms, including but not limited to atom arrays.
  • Proficiency with numerical simulation and scientific programming.
  • Experience with decoders or machine learning.
  • Ability to work across theory and application, including engagement with experimentalists and engineers.
  • Interest in translating fundamental research into commercial quantum technologies.

The approximate base salary range for this position is $110,000-$120,000.

We consistently monitor external market data and update base salary ranges accordingly.ย  We determine base compensation decisions on several factors, including as geographic placement, role-specific knowledge, skills, and/or experience.ย  In addition to our base salary offerings, we also provide equity grants for all new hires.

QuEra is committed to cultivating a diverse work environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We highly value diversity in our current and future employees and do not discriminate (including in our hiring and promotion practices) based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, disability status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
