Job description

Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for community engagement and operational excellence? The YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking a Branch Leader to provide strong leadership, fiscal integrity, and exceptional program delivery at the Atlee Station and Patrick Henry YMCAs.

The Executive Director of Experience will provide strong leadership and fiscal integrity to the Atlee Station and Patrick Henry Family YMCAs. This role will increase community awareness through superior program delivery, team and member experience and operational efficiencies thus furthering the goals and mission of the YMCA of Greater Richmond.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership & Community Engagement: Promote and uphold the YMCA's mission, goals, and values, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members, staff, and volunteers. Act as a visible and engaged leader in the community to increase awareness and impact.

  • Operational Excellence: Oversee all branch operations, ensuring compliance with YMCA standards, policies, and procedures while maintaining a safe, efficient, and high-quality experience for members.

  • Financial & Budget Management: Develop, implement, and manage department budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting, financial analysis, and fiscal responsibility. Identify opportunities for growth and cost efficiency.

  • Membership Growth & Retention: Support initiatives that drive membership engagement, retention, and program participation. Lead efforts in delivering exceptional member experiences.

  • Staff Development & Supervision: Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a high-performing team. Implement training programs, workshops, and coaching strategies to enhance staff skills and performance.

  • Program Oversight: Provide leadership and support across all program areas, ensuring alignment with YMCA standards and community needs.

  • Scheduling & Team Management: Oversee centralized scheduling and ensure the proper staffing of programs and operations. Maintain clear communication and accountability within teams.

  • Fundraising & Community Relations: Assist in achieving Annual Giving goals by fostering relationships with community partners, donors, and stakeholders.

Knowledge and Skills:

A bachelor's degree with a minimum of five years of progressively responsible management and supervisory experience required. Must have commitment to the mission, cause, values and ethics of the YMCA and demonstrate an understanding of operational excellence, superior member and team service. Ability and willingness to attain certifications in wellness and aquatics and act as a key shift leader during hours of operation. Strong oral and written communication skills required. Must have strong human relations skills and the ability to lead and grow team members. Excellent analytical and financial skills, organizational, problem-solving, and computer skills are mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary is $87,600 based on experience and qualifications.
