This full-time role offers the unique opportunity to work remotely while providing critical therapeutic services to children and families within our community health clinic. Your expertise will directly contribute to improving the well-being of children with developmental and intellectual challenges.

About the Organization

Atlantis Psychotherapy Service specializes in providing comprehensive support to children and families facing developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our mission is to empower youth and families through therapy and tailored support services. We pride ourselves on creating a nurturing environment that values diversity and inclusivity, especially for our bilingual clients. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual in-home therapy sessions and group therapy sessions at our outpatient clinic to provide a comprehensive support system for children and their families.
  • Implement therapeutic strategies to address anger management, coping skills development, and social skills enhancement. Your role will be particularly focused on reducing high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior and physical aggression.
  • Work collaboratively to improve decision-making skills for both youth and their caregivers, targeting effective management of in-home behavioral challenges.
  • Engage in regular collaboration with the Child Family Treatment Team and other interdisciplinary professionals to ensure cohesive treatment plans.
  • Submit all necessary documentation, including intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes, in compliance with designated timelines.
  • Participate in monthly team meetings to discuss treatment efficacy, progress, and recommendations for additional support as needed.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will serve a diverse population of clients, including children aged 3-20 with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Our aim is to cater to a wide variety of needs within this demographic, supporting not just the children, but also empowering their families through systemic therapy interventions.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.
  • Active and unrestricted LMFT license to practice in Texas.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese to better serve our diverse client base.
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 pm), with some weekend flexibility appreciated.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience delivering positive behavior support methodologies, with specific emphasis on effective interventions for children with I/DD.
  • Prior work experience in the field, specifically involving children between the ages of 3 and 20.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for in-home visits and community outreach.
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check, including fingerprinting, in accordance with state regulations.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is competitive, offering between $60,000 and $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:

  • A dynamic and supportive work environment that encourages professional development.
  • Competitive pay reflecting your expertise and commitment.
  • Ongoing training opportunities to enhance your clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Group health coverage, annual paid time off for work-life balance, and short/long-term disability insurance.
  • A 401K plan to support your financial future.
