ATI is currently seeking a Truck Repair Technician to join our facility in Cudahy, WI. Our Truck Repair Technician is an integral part of a dedicated team who take great pride in helping ATI achieve production and quality results.
In this position, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing all mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical malfunctions to street, forklift, trailer tractor, sweeper, and hand trucks to ensure equipment is in good operating condition.
A successful Truck Repair Technician is attentive and detail oriented, able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment and is motivated to quickly learn about ATI's products, processes, and quality standards.
This is a first shift position from 7am-3pm, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities:
  • Analyzes and allocates problems of various vehicle equipment such as hand, forklift, street, trailer, sweeper, tractor truck.
  • Disassembles and inspects parts. Rebuilds and makes repairs to engines, transmission, electrical controllers, hydraulic systems to obtain operating efficiency of equipment.
  • Replaces worn or broken parts, grinds valves, aligns wheels and tightens body bolts as required. Lubricates trucks and vehicles and is responsible for steam cleaning of all vehicles.
  • Uses measuring and/or test equipment such as feeler gages, dial indicators, electrical timers, compression testers, hydraulic and/or air tester, voltmeter and amperage test
  • Capable of duties described in the IAMAW labor agreement for a Truck Repair Apprentice.

Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience or licensed Journeyman

Preferred Qualifications (in addition to Basic Qualifications)
  • Forklift Certified
  • Hydraulic experience

Skills
  • Knowledge of drive fits, press fits, shrink and running fits of various metals as well as machine parts construction and repair practices and procedures.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Strong Computer Skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze and resolve difficult problems effectively and implement long term solutions
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
