Job description

This position functions primarily in a medical assisting capacity within our orthopedic clinic while also providing athletic training services and outreach support to affiliated local schools.
As part of our integrated health system, this role supports our mission of delivering high-quality, coordinated musculoskeletal care across the continuum - from injury prevention and sideline assessment to surgical support and rehabilitation. The Athletic Trainer serves as a vital link between student-athletes, families, school personnel, and our orthopedic providers.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training from an accredited program.
  • Board of Certification (BOC) required.
  • Current licensure as an Athletic Trainer in Missouri or licensure eligible required.
  • CPR/AED certification.
  • Prior orthopedic, sports medicine, or clinical experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy, injury assessment, and rehabilitation protocols.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EPIC or similar system preferred).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for athletic coverage.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Patient-centered approach aligned with hospital service standards.
  • Ability to function effectively within a multidisciplinary care team.
  • Strong clinical judgment and emergency response capability.
  • Commitment to quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
  • Cultural competence and professionalism in diverse community settings.
