Job description

Position Overview

Two Occupational Therapy Assistants are needed for a 13-week assignment providing restorative and rehabilitative OT services to adults 55 and older in both center-based and home-based settings. The role focuses on Amergisizing participant independence, safety, and performance of ADLs through structured therapeutic interventions.

Assignment Details
  • Modality: Occupational Therapy Assistant

  • Openings: 2

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

  • Hours per Week: 40

  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

  • Start Date: 09/08/2026

  • Charting System: Athena

  • Interview: Client will call candidate once in client review

  • Shift Cancellation Policy: 2 shifts per 13 weeks

  • Avg Ratio/Caseload: None

Responsibilities
  • Perform OT testing and restorative/rehabilitative interventions

  • Provide therapy in both center and home environments

  • Support participant independence and safety

  • Enhance performance of ADLs

  • Work with adults 55+ with chronic or complex conditions

  • Document all care in Athena

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams

Required Experience & Certifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience

  • Active COTA license (California) required

  • Certifications and licenses required per position

  • General Environment: The program serves adults 55+ who meet nursing-facility level of care and can live safely at home with support. Participants may have mobility limitations, arthritis, diabetes, cognitive impairment, dementia, and other chronic conditions.

CompensationTravel COTA

Weekly Pay Package: $2,362/week Hourly Pay: $23/hr Meals Stipend: $518/week Housing Stipend: $924/week

Local COTA

Weekly Pay Package: $2,080/week Hourly Pay: $52/hr

Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant provides occupational therapy services including treatment, implementation, standardized assessment data, and documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current certification or licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of practice
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy Assistant required
  • One (1) year of experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant preferred
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
