Currently, ATCO STRUCTURES & LOGISTICS (USA) INC. (“ASL-USA”) is seeking a Staff Accountant for it's Spring, Texas 77380 location. This position will encompass a variety of professional accounting duties, including general ledger reconciliation, monthly closing, audits, analyzing/verifying fiscal records/reports, and financial/statistical report generation.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES of the position include:


  1. Prepare and/or assist with monthly forecasts and annual budgets, year-end audit reports, and schedules.
  2. Maintain integrity of the General Ledger.
  3. Maintain various accounting reports, and ensure ATCO accounting policies and procedures are in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  4. Responsible for timely month-end closings, ensuring alignment with monthly and quarterly closing schedules as prescribed by the Controller and Corporate accounting group.
  5. Prepare journal entries and account analysis; trace errors, research, and correct account discrepancies.
  6. Accountable for reconciliation of general ledger accounts and internal allocations.
  7. Responsible for preparation of Monthly P&L and Balance Sheet for assigned departments/locations.
  8. Conduct variance analysis with assigned department/location budget holders of actual results vs. budget, and current period vs. prior periods.
  9. Actively participate in internal and external audits.
  10. Assist with cash reconciliation, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accruals, indirect tax and other balance sheet accounts.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited university/college is required.
  • A minimum of two (2) years accounting experience is required.
  • Experience with both Cost and Inventory accounting is desired.
  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills are required.
  • Financial analysis experience required.
  • Oracle Cloud & SmartView Reporting experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to plan work appropriately to meet required deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and desire to continuously look for process improvements.
