Job description

SUMMARY

Plans and prepares production schedules for manufacture of products by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Produces daily quantity build schedule by product line.
  • Reviews daily production required, production capability, and establishes availability of all materials needed for specific part number production.
  • Identifies potential and actual short falls in core, dunnage and material and coordinates efforts to remedy same with appropriate responsible managers/supervisors.
  • Orders core from customer as needed.
  • Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects.
  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet conditions.
  • Prepares reports as required, example: production performance to schedules, forecast accuracy, etc.
  • Take an ownership to maintain work orders on the Work Order Plan Tracker (a.k.a. dashboard).

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university; 5 years of experience in Scheduling and Inventory Control; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Areas of Study:

Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operation Research

Experience in managing manufacturing processes, productivity, and efficiency measurements.

Experience using MRP / ERP systems.

APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP).

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

  • Must have excellent excel skills.
  • Sound knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing planning, demand, and replenishment processes.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to reason and influence at all levels.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analysis skills.
  • Ability to manage complexity and resolve conflicts that arise from balancing multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in MS office applications.
  • Strong collaboration with Operations, Sales, Customer Service, and Management will be critical to meeting business goals.
  • Strong statistical analysis background highly desired.
  • Must be able to read and understand English.
