Job description

Title: Logistics Coordinator

Salary Range: $21.00-$23.00/Hour

Responsibilities

The Logistics Coordinator coordinates outbound and inbound shipments ranging from local deliveries to international shipments and everything in-between.

  • Schedules drivers to perform local deliveries.
  • Coordinates subrental pickup and returns.
  • Hotshots (airfreight).
  • Performs administrative tasks to support Operations Department including updated dispatch and inbound schedules, record keeping, and accounting.
  • Works with Sales staff in order to plan for pick-up and delivery times.
  • Provides freight cost quotations to sales staff.
  • Updates freight cost database with current costs.
  • Determines space requirements of shipments in trucks and shipping containers.
  • Negotiates rates with 3rd party carriers (including comparative rates), freight forwarders, and couriers.
  • Ensures costs are kept to a minimum without sacrificing service quality or accuracy.
  • Performs local deliveries as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Highly Organized, hands-on approach
  • Completion of advanced freight training courses.
  • Proficient in MS Office Software (Outlook/Word/Excel).
  • Upbeat team player who can work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced ever-changing environment with an emphasis on strong customer service.
  • Basic understanding of ATA Carnet format.
  • Previous experience in trade shows and special events is strongly preferred.
