What is an AT?

Athletic Trainers (ATs) are healthcare professionals who specialize in preventing, diagnosing, and treating muscle and bone injuries and illnesses. They work with athletes and physically active individuals to provide emergency care, develop rehabilitation programs, and educate on injury prevention. ATs often collaborate with physicians, coaches, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for their clients. Their work settings include schools, colleges, professional sports teams, clinics, and hospitals.

What are common challenges faced by ATs when working with multiple sports teams during a busy season?

Athletic Trainers often manage the health and well-being of athletes across several sports, which can lead to scheduling conflicts and increased workloads, especially during overlapping seasons. Balancing injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation for numerous athletes requires strong organizational and communication skills. ATs must also collaborate closely with coaches, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans, which can be challenging when priorities differ. Effective time management and adaptability are essential for success in this dynamic environment.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as an AT?

To thrive as an Athletic Trainer, you need a solid background in injury prevention, clinical evaluation, and rehabilitation, usually supported by a bachelor’s or master’s degree in athletic training and state certification (often the Board of Certification, BOC). Familiarity with therapeutic modalities, electronic medical record systems, and emergency response procedures is essential. Strong communication, decision-making, and empathy are critical soft skills for working effectively with athletes, coaches, and medical staff. These skills and qualifications are vital for ensuring athlete safety, effective injury management, and seamless collaboration within sports or healthcare environments.

Job description

) Office Coordinator - Drive Excellence at Full Speed
Are you the type of person who thrives when no two days look the same - someone who gets energized, not overwhelmed, by a constantly shifting to-do list? Are you wired to move fast and get it right, without having to choose between speed and accuracy? Do you have a built-in sense of urgency - you don't wait to be told twice and you don't let things sit? Are you the kind of person who loves juggling recruiting, onboarding, retention, and admin all before lunch - and considers that a great day? Do you hold yourself to a high standard, sweat the details that matter, and take real pride in doing things right?
If you answered yes, we want to meet you. This is not a quiet desk job - it's a high-urgency, high-impact role where your pace and precision directly affect the quality of care we deliver to older adults and veterans.
THE ROLE - WHAT YOU'LL DO AND WHY YOU'LL EXCEL
You own the caregiver lifecycle - recruiting, onboarding, retention, and recognition - while supporting our leadership team administratively. Because you naturally operate with urgency and thrive on variety, you'll keep multiple recruiting pipelines moving simultaneously without losing momentum. Because you hold yourself to a high standard and take precision seriously, caregivers will be onboarded correctly and completely every time - no steps skipped, no details missed. And because switching gears is where you do your best work, the constant pivot between people, process, and systems won't drain you - it will fuel you.
Your weekly targets:
• Hire 5+ caregivers per week through proactive, creative recruiting
• Maintain a 1.5:1 caregiver-to-client ratio
• Hit a caregiver satisfaction (OSAT) score of 9.5/10
Day to day you will:
• Support a fast-moving recruiting and hiring process end-to-end
• Coordinate caregiver onboarding with precision: every step, every form, done right
• Find creative ways to reward and retain top caregiver talent
• Use Microsoft Office and other tech tools to streamline operations
WHY RIGHT AT HOME
Right at Home has spent 30 years helping veterans and older adults live independently at home. We are a nationally recognized, award-winning franchise - including a Regional Caregiver of the Year - and we run on EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System). That means clear direction, real accountability, and a leadership team that gives you the tools, feedback, and recognition you've earned. We are working toward 1,000 active clients and we reward the people who help us get there.
Ready to move fast and do it right?
If this role sounds like it was written for you, don't wait - the right people move quickly. Apply now!
