Responsible for site direction of environmental services assigned staff performing cleaning and/or project work at the medical center and associated locations. Monitors environmental services program to ensure that buildings are maintained in a safe, clean and operationally effective condition.

  • Significant environmental services experience in healthcare environment required (usually 3-5 years).
  • Previous experience in a lead or supervisory position required (usually 2 years).
  • Knowledge of hospital infection control, sanitation protocols and cleaning methods required.
  • Management skills, including interviewing, organizing, planning, and problem solving skills required.
  • A.A. degree or 2 years of college r equivalent experience preferred.
  • Association for the Healthcare Environment, (AHE), or International Executive
  • Housekeepers Association (IEHA) Certification preferred.

Provides essential day-shift leadership and oversight to ensure EVS operations run safely, efficiently, and without disruption during the hospital's busiest hours.
Directly manages staffing, scheduling, attendance, daily work assignments, and employee performance to maintain productivity and accountability.
Ensures patient rooms, discharge rooms, and high-risk areas are cleaned and verified according to hospital and infection prevention standards.
Maintains compliance with CDPH, The Joint Commission (TJC), and hospital policies through ongoing monitoring, documentation, and staff training.
Prevents operational gaps that would otherwise shift critical responsibilities to the Director and existing staff, increasing the risk of delays, reduced oversight, regulatory findings, and impacts to patient care.
