Job Title: Expeditor

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio (On-site)

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: $65,000 – $70,000 annually


Position Summary


AGSE is seeking a detail-oriented Expeditor to coordinate and expedite the flow of materials, products, and information to support efficient operations and on-time delivery. This role works closely with Purchasing, Warehouse, Production, Shipping, Suppliers, and Customer Service teams to resolve delays, monitor schedules, and ensure materials and customer orders move through the process without interruption.


This is a fast-paced role suited for someone who is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities while communicating across departments and with suppliers.

Key Responsibilities


1. Supplier Expediting & Delivery Management

  • Proactively monitor open purchase orders, shipment status, and material shortages to identify risks before they impact operations and customer deliveries
  • Investigate overdue or stalled purchase orders and independently determine the source of delay
  • Contact suppliers directly to obtain accurate status updates, revised ship dates, and recovery plans
  • Escalate and resolve breakdowns in communication, execution, or shipment movement across the supply chain
  • Track critical deliveries from supplier release through final delivery to ensure continuity of supply
  • Maintain accurate purchase order, supplier commitment, and delivery information within the ERP system.
  • Drive suppliers to meet agreed delivery dates and challenge unsupported or unacceptable delays.
  • Develop and monitor recovery plans for past-due and at-risk purchase orders.
  • Escalate chronic or significant supplier performance issues to Purchasing and Supply Chain leadership.
  • Support supplier corrective actions related to delivery, capacity, responsiveness, and other performance issues.
  • Participate in supplier performance reviews and improvement initiatives.

2. Logistics Coordination & Shipment Recovery

  • Investigate missing, delayed, or misrouted shipments using tracking systems, freight documentation, customs information, and carrier communication
  • Work directly with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, warehouses, and shipping offices to resolve transportation issues
  • Coordinate expedited shipments or recovery actions when required to support business needs
  • Monitor inbound shipment progress and identify disruptions related to customs clearance, documentation, scheduling, or freight movement
  • Ensure accurate communication of shipment status, risks, and recovery actions to internal stakeholders

3. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Partner with Purchasing, Planning, Operations, Warehousing, and Quality teams to resolve material flow issues
  • Provide timely updates on critical shortages, delayed shipments, and recovery actions
  • Support prioritization of high-risk orders and operationally critical materials
  • Help identify recurring supply chain issues and communicate trends to leadership

4. Continuous Improvement & Process Support

  • Identify recurring gaps in purchasing follow-up, shipment visibility, or supplier communication processes
  • Recommend and support improvements that reduce late deliveries, expedite costs, and operational disruptions
  • Assist in developing tracking tools, reporting methods, and escalation processes for critical material management
  • Support a culture of accountability, urgency, and proactive problem-solving within the supply chain organization
Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in international purchasing, supplier expediting, supply chain, materials management, or a related manufacturing environment with Demonstrated experience managing international supplier delivery performance and resolving complex supply issues.
  • Associate degree or higher in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or related field preferred
  • Experience working directly with suppliers, carriers, or freight/logistics providers - aerospace or other complex engineered- low volume high mix product manufacturing.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Understanding of supply chain risk management and material planning concepts
  • Ability to independently investigate issues and drive resolution with minimal supervision
  • Experience in distribution, manufacturing, aerospace, or industrial supply chains
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, purchase order tracking, and shipment documentation Epicor preferred.
  • Experience working with international shipments, customs processes, or freight forwarding
  • Experience purchasing or expediting machined components, fabricated assemblies, electromechanical components, tooling, or other complex manufactured products.
  • APICS/ASCM certification or equivalent supply-chain education.

Compensation & Benefits

Work Environment

  • This role is on-site in Cincinnati, Ohio 45215. Employees work primarily in an office environment while interacting regularly with customers, suppliers, and internal departments. Occasional visits to manufacturing or warehouse areas may be required. This role deals with international customers and vendors, and off hours may be required at times. Physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
