At Home Video Game Testers focus on playing and identifying bugs in video games remotely, often with flexible hours. As an at home video game tester, your job is to test and play games before release to identify and replicate bugs and other errors. In the remote, home-based version of this job, you may play games over the internet, test the latest builds from a company, and provide timely feedback about the aspects you test. It's relatively rare to work from home as a video game tester. Most developers perform the testing in their office, so if you want to work remotely in this job, you may need to focus on smaller publishers and developers. Video game testing is usually a contract-based position, so you need to look for new employers regularly unless you get an ongoing position with a company that releases a lot of titles.
