Job Overview
The Home Marketing team at Lavazza North America plays a central role in driving brand growth within the U.S. market by leading strategy, portfolio development, and category advancement across key consumer coffee segments. Operating across Retail, eCommerce, and eRetail channels, the team collaborates with Commercial Strategy, Sales, and global headquarters to deliver innovation and long-term category leadership.

The Senior Product Marketing Specialist - Roast and Ground (R&G) sets and executes the strategy for the R&G category vision, portfolio assortment, new product development (NPD), pricing guidelines, and shopper selling stories for the Home channel. This role partners closely with Home Channel counterparts, Commercial Strategy, Sales, Supply Chain, Demand Planning, and global headquarters to align category priorities, launch plans, and shopper activation. The position develops category management capabilities across Retail, eCommerce, and eRetail by translating consumer, shopper, syndicated data, and portfolio insights into growth plans, assortment guidelines, dashboards, and customer-ready stories.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop the R&G category vision by identifying shopper trends, category dynamics, and growth opportunities across Retail, eCommerce, and eRetail channels.
  • Build customer-ready selling stories that define yearly priorities, category trends, and five Ps direction, including product, price, promotion, place, and people considerations.
  • Analyze existing portfolio and NPD performance to identify growth drivers, improvement opportunities, and priority rankings.
  • Create R&G assortment guidelines for online and offline channels to support customer assortment priorities and distribution targets.
  • Define portfolio objectives, NPD opportunity areas, key success criteria, pricing strategy, promotional approach, and volume ambitions aligned with business goals.
  • Coordinate the end-to-end NPD creation process with brand, shopper marketing, Commercial Strategy, Sales, Supply Chain, Demand Planning, North America platform teams, and global headquarters.
  • Align R&G brand assets with below-the-line tools and retail calendars to support shopper engagement and consistent channel messaging.
  • Establish national shopper key performance indicator (KPI) objectives and prepare dashboards and reports that track category performance, activation impact, return on investment (ROI), and growth opportunities.
  • Oversee national customer activation analysis and sell-out sales force activities, including set-up, coordination, and ongoing support for partners such as IRI Tactical Retail (IRT) and Basemakers.
  • Monitor syndicated data sources, including Information Resources, Inc. (IRI), Nielsen, Numerator, and Nielsen Spaceman, to inform category recommendations and decision-making.
Professional Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in trade marketing, revenue growth management (RGM), four Ps strategy, category management, or portfolio strategy within the retail sales / sell-out environment.
  • Experience with sales value chain, portfolio strategy setup, and customer management.
  • Experience leading or coordinating new product development initiatives across cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Sales, Commercial Strategy, Supply Chain, Demand Planning, and global stakeholders.
  • Experience using syndicated data and category management tools such as IRI, Nielsen, Numerator, or Nielsen Spaceman to evaluate performance and recommend actions.
  • Experience in consumer and shopper research, interacting with agencies and managing main research tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis, reporting, and customer-facing presentations.
