Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate activities within the shipping/receiving/warehouse areas of all incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Performs UPS, FedEx and other courier services as required
  • Reviewing work orders / Production Control sheets for accuracy
  • Operate proficiently in bindery, i.e. Cutting, folding, stitching, padding, and other bindery related tasks
  • Conducting window checks to ensure proper placement of the address block
  • Helping with finishing and packing as necessary
  • Producing work efficiently and safely
  • Maintaining the work area in clean and organized fashion
  • Continuously develop knowledge and skills as needed as the business changes
  • Ensure safety of material storage on the floor and in the warehouses to full compliance with applicable law
  • Operates forklifts and other material handling equipment as needed
  • Works closely with material handlers to ensure accuracy of inventory and provides backup support to the QC/Receiving manager as needed.
  • Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments
  • As a backup driver, ensure that all pickups are accomplished in the appropriate timeframe as scheduled by the Production Manager
  • Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications
  • Operate a high-speed mailing machine processing customers’ daily letters and flats
  • Should be knowledgeable in US Postal Rates and Mail Classifications
  • Necessary to balance postage accounts funds to settle daily
  • Minor workstation housekeeping duties
  • Clear communications with internal teams
  • Handling multiple and changing priorities
  • Meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Perform duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • College/High School or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in digital printing profession or mailing industry helpful
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, resourcefully with minimal oversight.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing strong working relationships with internal customers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to use with internal and external customers at all levels
  • Computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook), will also use Midnight and other in-house applications
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary service to employees and customers
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, and other federal, state, & local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone and in person
